It seems to be kinda form spoofing. We will add an anti form spoofing routine to prevent spambots from spamming without a valid form registration.

I have reviewed all user accounts and none are suspicious. All accounts must be verified and approved before they are created. The spam ads say user is either anonymous or unknown. They have stepped up the pace and I'm getting a spam ad almost daily now. Somehow, they are getting past the requirement to be a registered user logged in to post.

There are spambots creating fake user accounts in order to spam the forms of your Joomla Web Portal. Any forms are affected, not only KISS Advertiser.

To prevent this, have a look at whatever user accounts are created. If any seems to be suspicious, delete or deactivate them immediately before they can be used as spam account. If you do it consequently, spamming will stop.

I have done this. When a non-logged in user goes into the advertiser, the "New" button has an X on it and clicking on it takes you to a login screen. However, I'm getting lots of items added with no data and dates in 1969. I'm also getting items added for insurance and banking companies with lots of links in the description. I have to go in several times a week to delete these items. I do not get a notice for the empty items, but I do get a notice on the spam items that are added. They just say something like this:

Hi Super User,

How can I keep these things from getting posted?

In the configuration, select 'Options', then goto the tab 'Permissions'. Set the option 'Create new entries' to 'Registered'.

I want to limit who can create an ad to logged in registered users. I only have one plan, the default General plan. Access is set to registered, but I am still getting ads added by non-registered users. How can I fix this?
